Guiding Question:
HOW DO THE ARTS FACILITATE THE TYPE OF LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR CLASSROOM?
Objectives:
1) Become familiar with the language and applications of the four art disciplines
for integration purposes
2) Design and practice various arts processes to gain familiarity and confidence
with teaching “about and through the arts”
3) Reflect upon the unique attributes of each of the four art disciplines introduced
in this course through the application of VoiceThread technology
4) Practice making meaningful connections among the art disciplines, other core
subject areas and applied technology applications to promote critical
thinking and creativity
Goals: At the conclusion of the course the student will –
Identify how technology applications create unique teaching and learning opportunities; in addition, facilitates arts learning and understanding for both the student and teacher.
Design and complete technology applications with VoiceThread to demonstrate their understanding of the elements and applications of various art disciplines.
Design integrated -arts lesson plans and curriculum units which make meaningful connections among the art disciplines, technology and other core subject areas.
